It's been in the pipeline for a while now but it’s time to start getting excited! In the New Year Rock and River will start construction of an incredible new activity.

Nestle's Get Set Go Free Promotion is now up and running. What is it all about I hear you say? Well, Rock and River have joined this scheme to give people the opportunity to come and have a go at some adventurous outdoor activities and to reach out to a wider audience helping to make people become more aware of what Rock and River are all about and what we do.

So how does it work? 

This year's Lake Fest took place on Saturday 19th June and was a huge success.

We are running an exciting Outdoor Pursuits Open Day on Saturday 24th July. If you live within West Lancashire and are aged between 13 and 19 years then you are eligible for this exciting open day!

 Mawdesley Lake Fest is back!

Brad Roberts decided to celebrate his 11th birthday with us and enjoyed a great day with all his friends. They got to grips with our Outdoor Climbing Tower, High Ropes Course and ended with a fun session of Raft Building on the lake!

Do you remember a time when being outdoors was the most exciting place to be? Climbing trees, building dens, exploring the woods, playing with sticks, playing in the mud....Today's children spend increasingly more time 'plugged' into their games consoles or in front of the television and less time outdoors enjoying the natural environment. This comes at a huge cost! Nature-deficit disorder is a phrase coined by American writer and chairman of the Children & Nature Network, Richard Louv, that describes the human costs of alienation from nature, including: diminished use of the senses, attention difficulties, and higher rates of physical and emotional illnesses.

We have always extolled the virtues of outdoor pursuits to stimulate, motivate and educate. The benefits of outdoor education are many and we believe that every young person should have the opportunity to experience outdoor activities as they progress through life.

Our School Holiday Activity Scheme is running throughout the Easter holidays for anyone aged 8 to 16 years. Parents, why not take this fabulous opportunity to drop off your children with us and leave them in the safe hands of our qualified, experienced instructors for some outdoor pursuits they will never forget!
