Jigsaw MEPT

Jigsaw MEPT (Mawdesley Equine & People Trust) is a charity that provides activities and facilities calculated to advance the education of the public at large in all matters relating to the care and welfare of horses and ponies.

For anyone with an interest in learning to ride a horse Jigsaw is the perfect place to start. Jigsaw are fully equipped with an outdoor training area and a mechanical horse which provides an innovative and unique training opportunity.

Jigsaw is run by Sue Carr who has been in the horse industry for more than thirty-five years, working with damaged horses, the Riding for the Disabled Association and on a commercial yard. In this time Sue has been supported by her husband Tim, a civil engineer with interest in animal welfare and ecology.

Sue says: "We offer a relaxed and calm atmosphere where people can learn about horses in a safe, friendly and fun environment. Working with horses can empower individuals as they build trust and relationships with the horses. It expands their life experiences, teaches them new skills, improves their self-confidence and increases their self-esteem. This has led to many positive physical and emotional outcomes".

Jigsaw is located just a short walk across the fields from Rock and River and we are able to include sessions on Jigsaw's mechanical horse as part of our activities. You can combine your activities with us at Rock and River and sessions with Sue at Jigsaw to give a truly unique experience.

Prices for combined sessions

£36 per person - 2 hours of activities at Rock and River and 2 hours of activities at Jigsaw (this would be one hour on the mechanical horse which simulates riding a horse and one hour doing outdoor activities with Sue's resident horses).  Choose any 2 of Rock and River's adventurous activities.
