We have been running outdoor activities for primary and secondary schools right across the north west for over 14 years and pride ourselves on delivering a quality service that offers unbeatable value for money. We work closely with you to ensure all activities meet the specific needs and requirements of your group.

There are numerous options available to you, ranging from a half or full day of activities, to week long residentials. All of our fully trained and experienced staff are extremely passionate about the outdoors and are dedicated to ensuring your visit to Rock and River is a great experience for you and your students.

Our staff have a wonderful ability to motivate children of all ages and abilities giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential. They have experience of working with children with special educational needs including children with autistic spectrum conditions, mental health issues, sensory impairment and physical disabilities. We have a full range of specialist equipment that enables all children, regardless of ability, to engage fully in activities.

Your options really are are endless for your school visit at Rock and River. Choose from over 15 different activities. Rock and River Outdoor Pursuits has a fantastic High Ropes course which offers 7 different elements including the Leap of Faith, Zip Line, Jacob's Ladder and the Balance Beam all of which take place approx 13m (42ft) in the air. If its heights you like, these activities and the Indoor Climbing Room will suit you all the way down to the ground. For those who prefer things a bit more down to earth then there is Archery and Rifle Shooting, an extensive Orienteering Course, numerous initiative challenges and the River Line. The site also benefits from its own purpose built water sports lake offering Kayaking, Open Canoeing and Raft Building.

Fancy bringing your whole year group to us? We are experts in running outdoor activity days for up to 300 students at a time and are able to offer these special days at a reduced cost.
