At Rock and River you have a choice of climbing options. Choose from sessions on the brand new Rock and River Outdoor Climbing Tower or our Indoor Climbing Room. At 13m (42ft) high our climbing and abseiling tower has it all. Our Indoor Climbing Room is a dedicated climbing room with masses of routes and bouldering problems available. It is perfect for those wanting an introduction to climbing and offers plenty for the more experienced climber.

Rock and River Outdoor Climbing Tower

Come and pit your wits against the 13m (42ft) Rock and River Outdoor Climbing Tower. Our tower offers routes for both novice and more experienced climbers. There are numerous routes to choose from ranging in difficulty. We can accommodate up to four climbing sessions at the same time and there is ample seating for those who would prefer to watch! Our tower also has a dedicated abseiling wall so if this is your preferred choice then come along and give it a go.

Rock and River Indoor Climbing Room

Indoor climbing is one of the country’s fastest growing sports. Rock and River’s Indoor Climbing Room has something for everyone. It’s fun, exciting, challenging and safe! Our dedicated climbing room measures approximately 8m by 12m and is 7m high. We offer taster sessions allowing you to experience climbing with ropes as well as bouldering.

Unlike the majority of activity centre climbing facilities we have wall to wall crash mats (30cm deep) throughout our room, allowing your group to practice some low-level climbing. There are numerous routes to choose from which are set using a variety of different sized and types of holds as well as the natural features of the walls. Choose from a wide range of challenges including overhangs, volumes and cave sections. On a typical indoor climbing session your group will experience warm-up games, roped climbing and bouldering challenges. Our indoor climbing room is the perfect venue for school and youth groups; it is also used by our Crag Rats Climbing Club and is the perfect place for a Birthday Party.
